I actually don’t mind the isolation. I have a great family support system, and a couple close friends (one of whom is a writer as well.) Not to mention I have two dogs that lounge around me all day and make me take breaks from the hard work.

I’d certainly like to go to a conference, but until I have a better income, it’s not going to happen. =<

Writings a great vocation, but many find the isolation that accompanies it, a problem. I’d recommend you go to a Writers Conference and talk to an established writers about the life. Try Maui (big$) or the Anhinga (very affordable) conferences. Charlaine Harris is on the Anhinga staff. You sound enthusiastic – don’t lose that.

No worries. I decided I’d get work done on Here be Vamps while I’m waiting. That way I get my writing hit, I’m still getting work done on Jacky, and I’m not going to go insane with the waiting. =P

*shuffles feet and has a very bad conscience* I’m pretty sure I’ll get to do more beta reading as soon as the next two weeks of school are over, hon. I just had to whip myself back into the writing mode and that always makes me more productive and my critiques better

Hmm.
I don’t actually like the name much for him either. I obviously don’t know how much you’ve changed/cut, but doesn’t she start going to places like Denzel’s club because of/with him? And at some point, she’s unsure of going in without him or some other person ( I think it was her were-tiger friend? Alex? Can’t remember names, I read it too long ago) because she would have like to have them there for protection. Would you still get that kind of thing with him being younger than her? I don’t know. I think it depends on how much younger he is, and how well they get on. My brother is 2 years younger than me, more or less exactly, and I would feel more comfortable somewhere if I had him as ‘backup’. But if Tory was much more than that younger than her, could he still return her protectiveness as much?

I’m not picking at what you’ve said here – I’m jut trying to look at it from different angles.

WOOOT. Like I’ve always said mouse, You’ll go somewhere and that you’re greatly talented. Just keep up the good work. I never got a chance to read it all when my computer went “PFFT screw you” and I look forward to your publishing date so I can rush out and get it . I have read some of your posts. I would be revisiting, as I like the contents of your blogs.
